that provides a realistic industry preview for direct support professionals
supporting people with disabilities in a wide variety of settings. This video
portrays both the enjoyable and the difficult features of a career supporting
people with disabilities. This video is designed for parents, provider
agencies, and educational institutions that recruit potential direct support
workers. (30 minutes; 1/2" VHS) Cost: $30.00. The MN Frontline Supervisor Competencies & Performance Indicators: A Tool for Agencies Providing Community Services (1998). This tool identifies 14 broad competencies with related competency statements and performance indicators required of frontline supervisors providing community support services to people with developmental disabilities. This information was gathered through a comprehensive job analysis conducted in the state of MN. Neighbors, and Co-Workers: Learning about Supporting People with Disabilities This interactive CD-ROM provides an introduction to supporting people with developmental disabilities. It includes profiles of several individuals with developmental disabilities as they talk about and reflect on their lives. The content includes pictures and voices of people with DD, interactive exercises, an option for including agency policies, procedures and a welcome, training record tracking, and self-paced text.
